alright, I've realised over a thousand people read my previous message, so I think I have to share a quick update.Every failure is just an experience, isn't it? In December, HubSpot opened a similar role but in corporate sales. I applied (of course!), went through the interviews and got the job. I will be starting in management on May 1.This might be the end of my time as a sales rep / an individual contributor, and I must say, it's scary to go into the unknown. It seems the more you achieve, the harder it is to take a risk. “What if...?" What if I hate it? What if everyone else hates me? hahaSomething to reflect on:I started at HubSpot in 2019 as a small business rep Level 1, on the Central Eastern Europe (CEE) team. Promotions at HubSpot generally follow this pattern:* Small business rep – L1, L2, L3, L4* Mid-market rep – L1, L2, L3, L4* Corporate rep – L1, L2, L3, L4And here I am today, a Corporate rep L3, Nordics.Should I just stay in enterprise sales? why management? The fear of not meeting expectations is very real. But someone smart once said "To avoid criticism, say nothing, do nothing, be nothing" and I recall it when I am hesitating.I see a big opportunity in this new role. Official naming: Manager, Corporate sales (Ramp acceleration). I’ll own metrics like PPR (productivity per rep) and attainment of sales reps 0-12 MIF(month in funnel) in corporate EMEA (London, Berlin, Paris offices) Essentially, HubSpot has a problem, and they believe I can solve it. Sales enablement is lacking hands-on sales experience to coach reps effectively, and transparently - managers who never sold at HubSpot lack that experience too. I love a few things about this job: I'll be able to make decision, debate with Directors when presenting my plans, and define the course of action. When started at HubSpot in 2019, I was a junior sales rep. Now, I'm that person who HubSpot thinks can mentor sales reps and help them build a right foundation to succeed (sorry, that's me speaking to my imposter syndrome right now lol)What's next?I might start sharing a bit more here, e.g. my sales rep --> sales manager transitioning.
