Android now allows eSIM transfer between smartphones.

The feature operates with the support of carriers.

Google has introduced a tool in Android for the quick and secure transfer of eSIM from one phone to another. This process no longer requires going through the entire setup process again.

The new feature works by scanning a QR code. The first to receive it were the owners of Pixel 8 smartphones. Online speculated that it would only work on Google devices, but this is not the case, according to Android Police.

One of the portal's readers transferred eSIM while setting up their brand new Galaxy S24 Ultra. Meanwhile, a pop-up offering to transfer the card also appeared on the neighboring LG V60 ThinQ.

However, there is bad news: currently, this feature seems to only work with eSIM from T-Mobile. Nevertheless, while carrier support is still limited, this achievement still marks an important milestone in Android capabilities, now providing users with increased flexibility and convenience in managing their mobile plans across different devices.
