As part of the Cafe Kyiv KERMEN presented the Crimean coffee ceremony, alongside works by traditional artisans and Crimean-themed souvenirs. Guests were introduced to the aesthetics of Crimean craftsmanship — from handmade decorative items to authentic cultural artifacts — reflecting the richness of Crimean heritage and identity.The Crimean coffee ceremony is an intangible cultural heritage of the indigenous people of Crimea — Crimeans (Crimean Tatars). Coffee arrived on the peninsula in the 7th century via the Great Silk Road, giving rise to a unique Crimean tradition of preparation and serving. The beans are carefully roasted, ground in a hand-operated degirmen, and brewed in a cezve over hot coals, producing a rich flavor and a thick, velvety foam.Even during periods of genocide and exile, this tradition endured, faithfully preserved and passed down through generations. Each cup carries not only the aroma of Crimea, but also the living history, resilience, and dignity of its people.
