The best day of your life.Okay, so, apparently I live in a sitcom. Every day brings me new insights, unexpected conversations or wonderfully challenged people. Just the other day I was walking, deeply up in my thoughts. And the second when I started beating myself up in my head for not acting good enough about something, this homeless man jumped out of nowhere. He ROARED into my face.I guess, that was the best imaginable way to show me what I was doing to myself. Thanks, heaven. Duly noted. No more criticism whilewalking!But this is not what I wanted to talk to you guys about.So, I have a new classmate. She’s from China, a lovely girl with impeccable fashion taste, called Ana.Ana and I were doing this list of questions in Spanish to learn one of many past tenses that exist in this beautiful language.— What was the best day of your life? — she asks me.— Why, the day when Ariella was born, of course! — I said without a pause. — And yours? — The day of my life was the day when I was born, — she replied, modestly.I stared at her with a silent owe. Hell, this woman is a born genius! I mean, she gave me such a huge appreciation. Just like that: no dispute, no argument. A pure rhetorical truth.Until today I never thought of myself as a gift of my own.Did you? I think you should, right now! Apart from the fact that each of you here was an indisputable gift to the loving hands of your parents, you were a true treasure to this world.Just think of this, there is no second person like you. Or better — you are second to none.Some of you may have a special kind energy around you that makes the people feel comforted and happy. Some have the best hand writing of all times.Some of you were born to break someone’s heart and make a great psychologist out of him. Some of you are the best parent, even if single. Someone is Elon Musk, unfortunately. But let’s stay true: he had his good deal of unprecedented breakthroughs the humanity has never seen before.We are all here for a reason. I wrote this to remind you that the best day of your life is the day you were born.And until it is a “game over, wanna start a new game”, let’s make the best out of what we have.
