In 2022, Maureen played a vital role in supporting KSE Agrocenter, guided by her sincere commitment to helping Ukraine and advancing the work of Ukrainian researchers. Your compassion and impact will be remembered and felt for years to come.Maureen Kilkenny (December 29, 1954 – December 14, 2025) was an economist and scholar of regional science. She joined Iowa State University in 1994, became Associate Professor with tenure in 2003, and later continued her career at the University of Nevada, Reno. In 2000, she received the Hewings Award as an outstanding young scholar. Her research made lasting contributions to rural and regional economics. Together with her husband, Stanley Johnson, she was a committed philanthropist, supporting education, 4-H, and future scholars through the Johnson-Kilkenny Doctoral Fellowship.
