Colleagues,Yesterday, April 18, 2025, a unique event occurred in Kyiv at the MIDGARD educational space, the largest fencing lesson in Ukraine's history. 91 participants (children and coaches) took to the piste simultaneously. The event was organized by the Ukrainian brand Unic Fencing and has been officially registered as a National Record of Ukraine.But this record isn’t about the numbers.It’s about the people who don’t wait for change; they create it with their hands.And about sport, which has the power to support, shape, and unite, even in the most difficult times.Unic Fencing is a Kharkiv-based manufacturer of fencing equipment used by Olympic champions around the world.We don’t just produce gear; we open clubs, support coaches, and launch schools.Because we know for sure: today’s effort is tomorrow’s victory.Children’s sports in frontline regions are under threat.State sports schools are either destroyed or closed, and fencing is a sport that simply can’t be transferred online.Due to security risks, only private clubs remain, and not all families can afford them.In 2024, we opened a school where anyone—children and adults—can train for free for the entire duration of martial law.We cover all the costs for the venue, coaches, and equipment.But even with that, the school is only 30% full.That’s why this record was organized to remind everyone:Fencing is alive. It's accessible.
