Google has announced the integration of the artificial intelligence Gemini into the Chrome browser for Mac and PC. Initially, this feature will be available to users in the USA. Gemini will be able to clarify complex information on any webpage. A small Gemini icon will appear in the upper right corner of the browser, offering options such as exploring the page or researching the topic upon clicking. By default, the Ask Gemini interface will respond to queries related to the open tab.

Gemini in Chrome can work simultaneously with multiple tabs, making it easier to compare and summarize information from different sites. It integrates with Google applications such as Calendar, YouTube, and Maps, performing tasks like searching for a specific part of a video or scheduling meetings without leaving the page.

This month, a search mode for AI is planned to be launched directly from the Chrome address bar, supporting long and complex queries. Additionally, Gemini will be able to remember visited websites for quicker re-access. Google is working on security enhancements, particularly expanding Safe Browsing features to protect against fake viruses and fraudulent sites.

In the coming months, Gemini in Chrome will receive agent support features, allowing the assistant to perform routine tasks such as booking a haircut or ordering groceries. Users will be able to command the browser, and Gemini will automatically carry out the necessary actions on webpages.

Google also plans to implement Gemini in the Chrome mobile app for iOS, and this feature will be available soon.
