Review of Jsaux Obsidian AR Anti-Glare Screen Protector for Switch 2: Is It Worth the Money?

I tried the new anti-glare protective screen Jsaux for Switch 2 and found several drawbacks. This pre-production sample, known as Jsaux Obsidian AR, is set to be released in October at a price of $21.99. The manufacturer claims that its physical vapor deposition (PVD) coating, used in the Apple Studio Display, provides better glare protection while maintaining a glossy appearance—ideal for gamers who don't always have perfect gaming conditions.

In practice, this pre-production sample offers only minor improvements that are easily overlooked. The Obsidian AR slightly reduces light reflection, which can be distracting during gameplay. However, I noticed that the difference is more apparent in photos than in reality while using Switch 2. Interestingly, while gaming with the protective screen installed, I noticed a dead cockroach on the ceiling that I hadn't seen before. Although the manufacturer claims that the screen makes bright LED indicator lights less noticeable, it's not enough to forget about this surprise.

I can't say that the Obsidian AR isn't worth its price, as this is just an early version. Everyone reacts differently to glare, but I doubt that the difference justifies the cost compared to cheaper alternatives. For example, this protective screen costs $21.99, while you can buy three quality protective glass screens for less than $10.
