The base model of the iPhone 17 is expected to remain with 8 GB of RAM. The iPhone 17 lineup from Apple is likely to have a significant memory gap between models. According to insider Fixed Focus Digital from Weibo, the iPhone 17 will retain 8 GB of RAM, while the iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max models will receive 12 GB. Previously, this insider reported on the name iPhone 16, adding some credibility to their claims. In comparison, the latest Galaxy S25 models from Samsung, introduced earlier this year, feature 12 GB of RAM, and the Google Pixel 9 also offers this configuration. This aligns with the forecasts of analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who also suggested an increase in memory to 12 GB for the Air and Pro models. At the same time, he expressed uncertainty regarding a potential upgrade to the base iPhone 17 configuration due to possible supply issues and has not updated his forecasts since April. All current iPhone 16 models have 8 GB of RAM, which meets Apple's minimum requirements. The base iPhone 17, retaining this amount, will still support Apple's artificial intelligence features, although the larger memory in the more expensive models will provide better data processing and gaming performance. The iPhone 17 lineup is expected to be unveiled around mid-September.
