Microsoft Revamps the "Blue Screen of Death" Design in Windows 11

Everyone strives for minimalism.

The so-called "blue screen of death" - also known as BSOD (Blue Screen of Death) - will be changed in the upcoming version of Windows 11. The familiar sad emoji and QR code will be removed, leaving only a line about the critical issue in the center and the text error code along with the name of the file that caused it.

Microsoft announced the changes on its blog, noting that the new screen better aligns with the design principles of Windows 11 and supports the main goal - to return users to productive work as quickly as possible.

It is worth noting that the screen will remain blue. The green background is only present in insider builds of the system for developers, which are typically used to demonstrate such changes. In this case, it is version 26120.3653 in the beta channel. There is currently no information on when the change will be implemented in the stable version.
