The bot can also be integrated into the taskbar in Windows 11.

Google will embed Gemini in Chrome. Similar to Edge with its Copilot, a button to launch the neural network will appear directly in the main window of the browser. Additionally, the company is developing a special widget for this tool.

Chrome will become a neuro-browser - Google will add Gemini to it

Previously, the portal Windows Latest reported on the Gemini Live in Chrome (Glic) project - an interactive AI assistant in the browser. Recently, researcher Leopeva64 tested it in the latest version of Chrome Canary. He attempted to activate all flags to force the Gemini icon to appear, but currently, this feature is not functioning correctly.

However, some settings related to Glic have already appeared. They allow users to manage the activation of the neural network - a keyboard shortcut can be assigned or the function can be added to the menu.

After activation, a new button appears next to the window control elements (maximize, minimize, close). Clicking on it opens the AI assistant in a floating window, which is expected to be pinable in the future.

Gemini can also be pinned to the Windows 11 taskbar if the Chrome browser is installed on the computer. In this case, the button opens an overlay with a complete set of controls, including voice search. However, unlike Copilot in its early days, the window with the neural network does not minimize to the side.
