Fresh Windows 11 Update Causes Issues with Bluetooth Headphones, Webcams, and Alt+Tab

The update Windows 11 numbered KB5050009, released in January 2025, has caused numerous issues. According to Windows Latest, after installing the update, Bluetooth headphones stop transmitting sound, and attempts to fix the situation by reconnecting or resetting Bluetooth yield no results.

Among other errors are failures in webcam functionality, including built-in devices in HP Spectre laptops and cameras in Dell monitors with 4K resolution. Some users report the error "Device cannot be started," which cannot be resolved even after uninstalling the update.

Issues also affect devices connected via DAC: sound cards and gaming USB headsets stop working, and drivers display the error "Insufficient system resources to execute API." YouTube videos may fail to load or freeze with audio playback errors, and switching between windows via Alt+Tab may completely freeze, requiring a computer restart.

In some cases, simply uninstalling the update is not enough to resolve the problems. Reports indicate that a complete system reinstall may be necessary.

Experts recommend pausing automatic Windows updates and waiting for fixes from Microsoft. This is not the first time updates for Windows 11 have led to failures—previously, they disrupted the functionality of "Explorer," the taskbar, and other system components.
