Telegram Update: Gift Friends and New Video Chat Interface

It is now available to all users.

The Telegram team has released a new update. Now users can send each other gifts that appear as animated images with text greetings. These goodies can then be added to your profile to show off to friends or exchanged for Stars.

Another interesting point: gifts can be sent anonymously. The recipient will know who it is from, but your name will not be visible to others, even if the gift is shown in the profile.

The Android version finally introduced support for live streaming in RTMP mode: users can generate keys and manage video streams using popular streaming software like OBS Studio or XSplit Broadcaster. This feature has been available on PC and iPhone since 2022.

The iOS app has completely redesigned the video chat interface. Now group calls consume fewer resources, allowing for battery savings on smartphones. Developers promise that it will also heat up much less during long conversations with many participants.

The "Report" menu interface has also been expanded. It now includes more detailed categories. For example, spam can now be additionally marked as fraud or phishing.

Along with this, a new platform for sending codes has appeared in the messenger, allowing any business to verify customer numbers. They will arrive in a separate chat in the app. However, for companies, this is a paid service - $0.01 per user.
