Firefox Browser Ends Support for Windows 7 and 8

Older versions of macOS have also been unfortunate.

Even in 2023, the popular Windows 7 continues to lose browser support. Since February, this system has stopped receiving Chrome updates, and now Mozilla has released the latest version of its browser: Firefox 115.

With the release of the update, computers running Windows 7 and 8, as well as macOS 10.12, 10.13, and 10.14, will automatically switch to Firefox 115 ESR (Extended Support Release). This is the last major update for the mentioned systems.

The ESR version means that until the end of support, Mozilla will continue to release security patches and other updates not related to adding new features (for example, those that enhance stability and performance). This limited support will last until September 2024, after which users of old systems should not expect even fixes for critical vulnerabilities.
