WhatsApp has introduced a new feature in the messenger: the ability to mute calls from unknown numbers. This is designed to help combat phone spam and fraud.
If this feature is enabled, a call from an unknown number will go through, but the user will not hear it. However, information about the call will appear in the missed calls list in the app, allowing the user to return the call if needed.
Additionally, the messenger has introduced a "Privacy Check" feature. Essentially, this is a tool for configuring the privacy of chats, calls, and personal information. In each section, users will clearly understand what each security feature does and can choose the appropriate level of protection for themselves. The new section can be found in the "Privacy" settings menu.
Both of these features are already available in the stable version of the messenger. If they have not appeared for you yet, you may need to update the app or wait a bit: the rollout may be gradual.
