The First Image of Zuckerberg's Twitter Alternative Emerges Online

Imagine that Instagram* has become a text-based app - this is what it looks like.

The company Meta* has created a social network that closely resembles Twitter in functionality. It is currently being tested among selected authors, with an official release planned for June this year, according to Bloomberg.

"A text application for conversations," as the project is referred to in the leaked slide, is built on the basis of Instagram*, which will be used for authentication. Both social networks will also be able to synchronize, for example, to transfer contact and follower lists. However, these are two distinct platforms.

Posts are limited to 500 characters, which is almost double the limit on Twitter (280 characters). Users will be able to attach links, videos, and photos to their posts.

In the settings, users will be able to manage comments on their page and mentions of their account. The list of blocked users on Instagram* will automatically transfer to the new social network.

It seems that the app was developed in a hurry. Just in March 2023, Meta* announced the start of development for the new social network, and three months later, it was revealed that it was ready for launch.
