Keeping machinery spaces clean and free from hazards. Proper disposal of oily rags and waste according to MARPOL procedures. Assisting in maintaining order and cleanliness throughout the engine department.✅Assisting Senior Engine Ratings & EngineersHelping Oilers, Motormen, and Engineers during repairs and routine maintenance.Passing tools, holding parts, cleaning components, and assisting in dismantling machinery. Cleaning filters, strainers, and equipment parts under supervision. Performing basic tasks like tightening bolts, wiping machinery, and degreasing surfaces.✅Routine Checks & Monitoring (Under Supervision) Taking simple readings (temperature, pressure, tank soundings), when trained and instructed. Observing machinery for leaks, vibrations, or unusual noises and reporting them.Assisting in rounds of the engine room.✅Tank Soundings & Fluid Handling (Supervised)Taking fresh water, bilge, lube oil, and fuel tank soundings with guidance.Assisting in transferring oils or water when instructed. Helping maintain correct levels of consumables and materials.✅Maintenance SupportCleaning and preparing equipment before and after maintenance jobs.
