🇪🇺🇰🇿 New strategic partnership between the EU and Kazakhstan concluded todayRaw materials, batteries and renewable hydrogen value chains are critical to the green and digital transitions. The European Union is already by far the largest foreign investor in Kazakhstan, with 60% of the stock of foreign direct investment. The Memorandum of Understanding signed today at COP27 between the EU and Kazakhstan aims to further expand the relationship between the two countries and ensure the development of a secure and sustainable supply of raw materials and refined materials. It also aims to develop renewable hydrogen and battery value chains, to boost the green and digital transformation of both sides' economies.The EU and Kazakhstan have committed to develop a Roadmap for 2023-2024, with concrete joint actions agreed within six months of the signature of the Partnership. These actions are to be carried out in close cooperation with relevant industrial and financial stakeholders from the EU Member States and Kazakhstan.European Commission
