Greetings from Vytautas Magnus University (VMU), Lithuania. We would like to inform you that Lithuania offers State Scholarships for one semester of studies at Lithuanian universities in AY 2026-2027.Please find more information about the announced calls here:Short-Term Studies (for one-semester studies in Autumn or Spring, AY 2026-2027)Lithuanian Short-Term Studies (for one-semester Lithuanian studies in Autumn, 2026) The deadline for the application is April 17.One of the main required application documents is a Conditional Agreement (see the attached form). Students interested in undergraduate or graduate courses can check the preliminary course catalogue HERE.PhD students are invited to contact us via e-mail [email protected] and indicate the research area. The courses will be offered individually. Students interested in Lithuanian studies are invited to check the attached file. First, the applicants (students) interested in studies at VMU are required to send these documents via e-mail [email protected]:Transcript of RecordsCertificate of Student Status (indicating the current year/semester and expected date of graduation)English Language ConfirmationConditional Agreement signed by the responsible coordinator at the home universityExpected Research Plan and CV (for PhD candidates only) Please note that:The State Scholarship programme does not require nomination of students.Students’ GPA must be not lower than 70% of the maximum grade.During the application, 2 semesters must be completed by an undergraduate student/1 semester - by a graduate/PhD student. Last year students are not eligible.English language proficiency must be not lower than B2 level according to the European language levels (or equivalent: TOEFL - 65, TOEFL IBT - 72, TOEFL ITP - 543, IELTS - 5.5, TOEIC - 785).Lecturers/researchers in the fields of linguistics or philology can apply for the Lithuanian short-term studies. They are required to send the Conditional Agreement and the Recommendation Letter via e-mail [email protected]. If the VMU responsible faculty agrees to accept the candidate, then the Conditional Agreement will be signed.Only afterwards the candidate will be able to submit the online State Scholarship application at one of the websites of calls listed above. As the results of the State Scholarship programme are late (in mid-June), your students can apply for the VMU bilateral/Erasmus+ exchange programme and the Lithuanian State Scholarship programme simultaneously. If the student is granted the State scholarship, he/she will cancel the VMU bilateral/Erasmus+ exchange programme documentation and will continue only with the State Scholarship programme documentation.
