Google to Add Chatbot, Short Videos, and Forum Posts to Search Results

Google plans a massive overhaul of its search engine. In particular, it will add tools based on artificial intelligence. This is mentioned in internal documents of the corporation that have come into the possession of The Wall Street Journal.

The company aims to gradually move away from the classic model of "ten blue links" in search results and make the service more focused on each individual user.

Additionally, short video clips will appear in search results. This way, the company wants to remain relevant among the youth, who are accustomed to receiving information in this format.

Promoting user-generated content is another strategy of the corporation. It plans to add more posts from online forums, primarily Reddit.

There will also be neural networks involved. Google will implement a chatbot in search that will not only provide more relevant results but also display additional questions related to the query, helping users obtain more accurate and reliable information. Overall, users will be able to interact with AI as if it were a live person. This project has been codenamed Magi.

It is expected that the company will announce the launch of Magi at its I|O 2023 conference next week. Other aspects of the "major renovation of the search engine" are set to be implemented later this year.
