Google adds tool search in Docs, Sheets, and Slides

It serves as quick access to features that previously had to be searched for in the interface.

In recent years, Google has refined the menu panel in cloud office applications to make it easier for users to find the necessary features. The new version of the services will make users' lives even more convenient: it will add a search bar for tools.

A small "tablet" search window will settle on the left side of the toolbar. By highlighting the area where changes need to be applied, it will be enough to enter the name of the feature in the search and click on the corresponding option.

• "Google Docs": page settings, dropdown lists, meeting notes.
• "Google Sheets": inserting rows and columns, merging cells, freezing rows and columns.
• "Google Slides": page settings, grammar and spell check, editing the theme design.

In the coming weeks, the new search will be available to all users with personal accounts, as well as within Google Workspace and G Suite. In the early access Rapid Release, the update has already started rolling out, and regular users will begin receiving it from May 10.
