WhatsApp Now Allows You to Save Disappearing Messages

But only with the sender's permission.

While the beta version of WhatsApp is testing animated emojis and a new keyboard for Android, the stable version of the app has also received a new feature: the ability to save disappearing messages.

If you use iMessage, you know that voice messages are automatically deleted after a while, but you can manually keep them in the chat forever. Similarly, messages with self-destruction will now work in WhatsApp. The sender or recipient can long-press the message and select the bookmark icon. In this case, the message will remain even after the timer runs out.

Messages saved in this way can be viewed in a separate folder.

At the same time, the sender will receive a notification that someone has chosen to keep the message. If they are not okay with it, they can veto and cancel the saving. In this case, the timer will function as usual.

The rollout of the feature has already begun. It is expected to be available to all users in the coming weeks.
