Resident Evil Requiem launches on February 27th. It's the first all-new Resident Evil title since Village (2021). The game blends the run-and-gun action of Resident Evil 4 with the first-person horror that began with Resident Evil 7. Many players and critics see it as a best-of-both-worlds experience; our review explains why.
Hands-on coverage and live Q&A
My colleague Jay Peters and I have been playing the game ahead of launch. We'll be answering questions from Verge subscribers in a live session right here.
- Want to know how dual characters and perspective switching work? Ask us.
- Wondering whether to play with the lights on? Short answer: yes.
- Curious how the game performs on Switch 2? I've been testing it on Nintendo's new handheld and will share details.
No major story spoilers
We won't spoil any major story beats during the session, but we will talk about gameplay systems, performance, atmosphere, and platform differences. Expect practical impressions, examples of combat encounters, and notes on pacing.
Drop your Umbrella Corporation questions in the comments. We'll be live at 3 PM ET to answer what we can.
