Major Galaxy S23 Update Enhances Camera Performance

The shooting quality has been improved and refined across 10 parameters.

The new flagship Samsung Galaxy S23 offers impressive cameras, but upon release, users noted minor issues with their performance. Samsung listened to the feedback and released an update that fixes bugs and enhances overall performance.

This concerns the fresh firmware version S91xNKSU1AWC8, which has currently been released only in South Korea but is expected to become available for users in other regions soon.

Here is the complete list of changes related to the cameras:

• The "Gallery" app now allows users to delete photos instantly, even if their processing is not yet complete.
• The autofocus algorithm has been redesigned. When the user presses the shutter button, the camera takes a photo even if the shot is not yet in focus. This can be adjusted in the Camera Assistant app settings to prioritize focus over speed.
• Sharpness has improved, and flickering has decreased when recording video with the ultra-wide camera in low-light conditions using the Super Steady mode. A notification has also been added indicating that this mode requires good lighting for better image quality.
• A bug has been fixed where a green stripe appeared on the left side of the screen while taking selfies.
• Video stabilization has been enhanced when shooting in Full HD at 60 fps using the main camera.
• The issue with stripes appearing in the sky during high-resolution shooting (50 or 200 MP) in medium and low ambient light has been resolved. Overall sharpness during high-resolution shooting has also been improved.
• Intermittent blurring has been eliminated through improved optical stabilization performance.
• The problem with photo quality when shooting without night mode in high resolution with speed priority has been fixed.
• The issue with face recognition after video calls through third-party apps has been resolved.
• The stability of the "Camera" app has been improved when shooting moving objects.

It is still unknown when the global version of this update will be released. SamMobile suggests that it will be launched alongside the April security patch - meaning it could be in the coming days.
