Sid Meier's Civilization VII Arrives on Apple Arcade February 5
Emma Roth reports on the latest gaming news: Sid Meier's Civilization VII is coming to Apple Arcade on February 5. Subscribers to Apple's $6.99/month service will be able to play the strategy classic on iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

What to expect from the Apple Arcade version
The Apple Arcade edition preserves the core premise of the PC game: expand your empire, manage resources, and lead historic civilizations to victory. The port includes touch controls for mobile play and adds mouse and controller support on macOS and iOS, according to the App Store listing.
Civilization VII Arcade Edition brings the core strategy experience to mobile and Mac, optimized for touch and controller input.
Limitations and requirements
- No multiplayer at launch — the Arcade edition will not support online or local multiplayer when it first releases.
- No DLC — downloadable content available on PC and other platforms won't ship with the Apple Arcade version.
- Map size limits — on devices with 8GB of RAM or less, you can expect smaller playable map options. Large and huge maps are available only on devices with more than 8GB of RAM.
