TikTok Adds Switch to Limit Content in "For You" Feed

TikTok has announced that users will now be able to limit the amount of content they see in their feeds. A new toggle will appear in the "Content Management" section, allowing users to adjust the volume of content in their personalized "For You" feed. Users will be able to customize the display of content in categories such as dance, sports, current events, fashion, health, and more.

In the coming weeks, an option will be added that allows people to choose how much AI content they want to see. Those who enjoy AI content will be able to increase its visibility, while those who prefer less can decrease it. However, there is currently no option to completely turn off content.

Additionally, TikTok is testing a content labeling system for content called the "invisible watermark." This will help prevent accidental removal of tags that identify AI-created content, especially when it is re-uploaded or shared on other platforms. The invisible watermark will be harder to remove from metadata and will be added to content created using TikTok tools like AI Editor Pro, as well as to content uploaded with C2PA Content Credentials.
