Apple is likely to soon add advertising to the Maps app. According to the latest report from Mark Gurman at Bloomberg, the company may start integrating ads into Apple Maps as early as next year. In his "Power On" newsletter, Gurman noted that Apple's strategy to increase advertising in iOS is actively developing, and the Maps app will be the next platform for this.

This innovation will allow restaurants and other businesses to pay for their data to be more prominent in search queries. The system is expected to be similar to search ads in the App Store, which allow developers to pay for their apps to be placed at the top of the results for relevant queries.
