Apple's health and fitness teams are now reporting to Eddy Cue as part of an internal reorganization. The goal of this change is to consolidate the divisions responsible for health and fitness under one leadership within the services group, according to a new report from Mark Gurman at Bloomberg. This comes amid preparations for the departure of Chief Operating Officer Jeff Williams at the end of the year.

Eddy Cue, head of the services group, is likely to gain control over the teams responsible for health and fitness, which will be consolidated under the leadership of Sumbul Desai. Additionally, in the new structure, Fitness+ head Jay Blahnik will report to Desai. Previously, both teams reported to Williams.
Gurman suggests that this reorganization is timed with the launch of a new subscription service, Health+, which he reported on back in March. This service is expected to include an AI assistant that will provide personalized recommendations for nutrition, exercise, and sleep. Apple plans to launch this service as early as next year.
