The movie "Minecraft" will receive a sequel. According to reports on social media platform X, the new installment will hit theaters on July 23, 2027. The director of the first film, Jared Hess, will return to work on the continuation, reports Deadline. However, Warner Bros. Discovery has not yet revealed which actors from the first installment will appear in the sequel.

The first film was a major commercial success, setting a record for the highest opening weekend in the U.S. among video game adaptations. It also became the second highest-grossing film of the year, earning nearly a billion dollars, according to Deadline. It's no surprise that Warner Bros. Discovery has already begun working on the sequel, although it remains unknown whether the same viral hit will be retained, such as with the chicken jockey.
