Your chats with Meta AI will soon influence the ads you see. If you have used Meta AI on Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, or Messenger, you might want to reconsider. By the end of this year, Meta plans to use your conversations with generative artificial intelligence to personalize content and ad recommendations. Text exchanges and voice conversations with Meta AI will be used to tailor posts, videos, ads, and other content.

The company claims that implementing AI conversations will enhance recommendations so that users see content that genuinely interests them more often. Meta compares the use of AI conversations to customizing recommendations based on interactions with content on Facebook and Instagram. For example, if you chat with AI about travel, you may see ads for travel gear, just as you would when liking relevant pages.
It is important to note that opting out of ad targeting based on Meta AI is currently not possible. However, users have the option to customize content and ad displays through the appropriate settings. With these settings, you can limit ads on specific topics or block individual advertisers. At the same time, access to your conversations with AI will remain open.
