Apple is testing a new app for Siri, similar to ChatGPT, for internal use. According to Bloomberg reports, this program is intended to test an updated version of Siri that will not be available to the public. It is being used to verify new features such as improved context understanding and the ability to perform more complex tasks within apps.

The new app resembles other chatbots, organized into multiple conversations on various topics, and has the capability to remember previous chats. Since the launch of iOS 18, Apple has been working on creating a smarter version of Siri. Initially, it was planned to introduce it alongside an update, but the company decided to postpone this idea until 2026 due to non-compliance with Apple standards.

The plan to transition Siri to a new platform has been canceled, and the company has decided to completely redesign it, accelerating the shift to large language models. The updated version will be able to engage in extended conversations and provide human-like responses to queries.

Apple intends to launch this new Siri by the end of 2025, likely as part of the iOS 26 update, which may appear as early as March. At the same time, the company plans to give Siri a new look, more human-like and resembling the Finder logo on Mac, by the end of next year.

In discussions with companies such as Anthropic, OpenAI, and Google, Apple is considering the possibility of using third-party technologies to support the new Siri, instead of developing its own artificial intelligence models.
