New AI Features in Google Pixel 10 Smartphones

Today, Google introduced the new Pixel 10 smartphones, which feature not only hardware enhancements but also new artificial intelligence capabilities. The Pixel 10 model offers a multitude of innovative features, some of which are already supported by the iPhone, while others are still unavailable to it.

One of the new features is Magic Cue — a proactive function that provides relevant information and suggests actions, similar to Siri's personalized capabilities. It can display flight information during a call to the airline or help select photos based on friends' requests.

Daily Hub utilizes Magic Cue to create a personalized daily digest — from upcoming events in the calendar to research topics and recommended playlists. The Call Transcripts feature provides real-time transcription of missed or declined calls. Apple already offers a similar capability for voice messages.

Pixel Journal assists users in keeping a diary by offering writing prompts and analyzing progress. A similar app, Journal from Apple, also provides tips for diary writing.

Voice Translate can translate calls in real-time, sounding like the voice of each participant. Supported languages include Spanish, German, French, Japanese, Hindi, Italian, Portuguese, Swedish, Russian, and Indonesian. This is akin to Apple's live translation features but without reproducing users' voices.

Camera Coach offers recommendations during shooting, helping achieve better lighting and composition. Auto Best Take analyzes up to 150 frames in seconds to select the perfect group photo, while the enhanced Add Me feature can include the photographer in the group shot using artificial intelligence, working with larger groups and suggesting better composition options.

Pixel devices can generate videos based on short text descriptions using the AI Videos feature. Gemini Live allows real-time conversations with AI Gemini, obtaining context from the camera or shared screen. Enhanced human speech is another feature that enables more natural and expressive conversations, with the ability to adjust speed and accents.

The Gboard keyboard supports tools for spell checking and rewriting texts in various styles. Google Photos gains new photo editing capabilities based on voice commands. The research assistant NotebookLM integrates with screenshots and the Pixel recorder, allowing users to add useful images to their notebook and save transcriptions of voice recordings.

With the Tensor G5 chip in the Pixel 10, supporting the Gemini Nano model, the smartphones receive the latest artificial intelligence technology. While Apple plans to update Siri by 2026, it currently lags behind the Pixel in image editing functionality and AI capabilities, as it lacks its own large-scale language model.

The new Pixel 10 devices are already available for pre-order and will go on sale at the end of the month. The iPhone 17 models will be officially presented in September.
