Hyperkin Competitor Controller for Xbox in DualSense Style Launching This Fall

The Hyperkin Competitor controller, inspired by Sony's DualSense design, will be released this fall. If you are an Xbox gamer and have long been interested in a more stylish controller for PlayStation 5, we have good news. After unveiling the final version at CES 2025, Hyperkin announced that it will be available for purchase in October at a price of $49.99. The controller will be available in black and white for North America, while Europe and Australia will see it in red, blue, and gold. These colors will eventually be available in North America as well.

The controller was first announced back in 2019, and in 2023 the company showcased a more refined design. Now Hyperkin fully embraces comparisons with PlayStation controllers, as the Competitor features a symmetrical joystick layout next to each other.

Key specifications match those presented at CES this year: joysticks with anti-drift Hall effect, impulse triggers, separate D-pad buttons, two rear buttons with locks, and a microphone mute button. This is far from an exact copy of the DualSense — the controller lacks the advanced haptic feedback and adaptive triggers characteristic of Sony. There's no need to worry about battery life either — the Competitor is exclusively a wired controller for Xbox.
