At Gamescom Opening Night Live 2025, many new titles and announcements were showcased. Although Silksong was only presented with a brief teaser, more detailed information is expected soon. The main event lasted two hours and included new footage for games such as Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, Ghost of Yōtei, and the second season of the Fallout series.

Particular attention was drawn to horror genre projects: Resident Evil Requiem, Silent Hill F, and Cronos: The New Dawn. Among the surprises was a roguelike from Monkey Island creator Ron Gilbert featuring vertical scrolling and anime inspired by the Sekiro series. Remember that The Game Awards ceremony will take place on December 11, hosted by Geoff Keighley. In the meantime, Resident Evil Requiem will be released on February 27. The trailer introduces the new heroine Grace Ashcroft and showcases bloody murder scenes.

Blizzard presented a new cinematic for World of Warcraft: Midnight — the eleventh expansion for the MMORPG and the second part of the World Soul trilogy. The trailer features blood elves battling the antagonist Xal'atath, known from the story The War Within.

Bloober Team, the studio behind the Silent Hill 2 remake, showcased the trailer for Cronos: The New Dawn, which will be released on September 5. Also in this genre, Silent Hill F continues to terrify players, scheduled for release on September 25.

Ron Gilbert introduced Death by Scrolling — a roguelike with vertical scrolling where players must survive while the screen moves. Prime Video announced the second season of the Fallout series, premiering on December 17. The story will take place before and after a nuclear catastrophe in a new Las Vegas.

TT Games announced LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, set to release in 2026, which will combine Batman's stories from various eras, including films by Nolan, Reeves, and Burton. Capcom and Square Enix are preparing a crossover between Monster Hunter Wilds and Final Fantasy XIV, launching in September.

Sony announced the anime Sekiro: No Defeat, which will be released on Crunchyroll in 2026 and will explore the game's story. There are also updates in the shooter genre: Battlefield 6 will be released on October 10, and Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 on November 14 with an "Inception"-style campaign.

Silksong is officially confirmed for release in 2025, with additional news expected soon. Dotemu is preparing a fantasy beat 'em up Absolum for PC, Nintendo Switch, PS5, and PS4, set to release on October 9. They are also working on the tactical roguelite Battlestar Galactica: Scattered Hopes, which will be available on Steam in early 2026.

Another interesting new title is Denshattack!, a game where players control trains on Japanese railways, combining the beauty of trains with skateboarding.
