Fortnite Recovers from Login Issues

Fortnite players have once again regained the ability to join matches after serious login issues, which Epic Games described as a barrier to stable user access. In a message released at 8:54 PM Eastern Time, the company announced that the login issue has been resolved and all players can log back into gaming platforms. Epic also assured that it continues to monitor services to ensure there are no further malfunctions.

The initial login problems were reported at 6:39 PM Eastern Time, and by 8:02 PM, most of them had been resolved, except for the PlayStation platform. During the outage, I personally could not log into the game on Nintendo Switch 2: a message appeared stating "unable to log into your account for online services," asking to try again later. Frustrated streamers on Twitch were also observed trying to participate in tournaments but were unable to play due to login issues.

Epic reported that the login problem affected two other games – Rocket League and Fall Guys. The company is investigating login errors for games that utilize Epic Online Services. Previously, Fortnite has faced prolonged outages, particularly during season launches, such as last year's Greek mythology, as well as at the end of 2021 when servers were down for several hours. An update from August 14 states that the issue has been resolved.
