Logitech Confirms: Almost All Their Webcams Work with Nintendo Switch 2, Except One

Logitech has announced that nearly all of their webcams are compatible with the Nintendo Switch 2, except for one model — the Logitech Brio 4K. The new GameChat mode on Switch 2 allows players to communicate with friends via video chat and see their faces while gaming. Logitech is the first company to confirm support for its cameras for this feature.

Logitech representative Layla Lewis noted that all webcams, except for the Brio 4K, work with Switch 2 "out of the box." When the new console launched three weeks ago, many webcam manufacturers were unsure which models would be compatible, resulting in many popular cameras not functioning. Manufacturers had to analyze the issue independently as Nintendo did not provide official compatibility recommendations.

Companies like Elgato and Ugreen even had to develop firmware updates for their cameras to make them compatible with Switch 2. However, Logitech does not plan to update the Brio 4K, as this model has Windows Hello security features that are not supported by the console. Some Reddit users report that the Brio 4K can be made to work by downgrading the firmware, but this is done at one's own risk.

Camera manufacturers continue to work on updates: Elgato and Ugreen have already promised to release updates for their models, while Obsbot has confirmed plans to release new firmware. Meanwhile, Insta360 is exploring compatibility options, and there are currently no specific statements from Anker.
