According to former leader Robin "Dark0ne" Scott, after months of contemplation and discussions, he found the ideal candidates to continue the project's development. Nexus Mods, a popular site for mods for thousands of PC games, was founded in 2001 and has become an essential part of its life. However, over time, the responsibility for such a large project began to lead to burnout, and he decided to pass the leadership to a new team.

Scott does not disclose who the new owner is, but he mentioned two key individuals — Foledinho (Victor) and Rapsak (Marinus). They have deep knowledge of the gaming and technology world and genuinely care about the community's future. Scott emphasizes that this is not a corporate deal or a behind-the-scenes conspiracy, but his personal decision to take care of himself and let go of control. He will remain active in the community, assisting with the site's development and engaging with users on forums and Discord.
