Windows users have long been accustomed to closing unresponsive applications through "Task Manager." However, in the upcoming update, terminating a frozen process will become much simpler.
Microsoft is currently testing the ability to end processes directly from the taskbar - similar to how it works on macOS. Users will simply need to right-click on the application icon and select the new option "End Task," which will appear above "Close all windows."
This option was spotted by user @PhantomOfEarth in the latest beta build of Windows 11 for developers (version 25300). However, currently, clicking on End Task does nothing: it seems that the interface is being tested at this stage.
After testing, this feature is expected to appear in the stable build of Windows 11, but it is still unclear when the release will take place. It is likely that the feature is not yet functioning well enough to be enabled even in beta builds, so it is not reasonable to expect a release in the coming weeks.
