Final Fantasy XVI Now Available on Xbox, Final Fantasy VII Remake Coming Soon

Final Fantasy XVI is now available to play on Xbox. The release unexpectedly took place during today's Xbox Games Showcase. Players can enjoy thrilling battles, excellent voice acting, and perhaps a not-so-engaging storyline — as Square Enix doesn't always showcase perfect harmony in everything.

In addition to the base game, users will gain access to two story expansions: The Rising Tide and Echoes of the Fallen. They introduce new storylines and a new Eikon — Leviathan, which is a version of summons in the game. But the news doesn't stop there: the collaboration between Xbox and Square Enix continues. Last year, the highly acclaimed MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV was released on Xbox.

Recently, rumors have emerged about Square Enix's plans to expand its presence beyond the PlayStation ecosystem and release the Final Fantasy VII remake on Xbox. These rumors have been confirmed: absurdly named Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, which is the first phase of the FF7 reimagining project along with a character-focused DLC featuring Yuffie, will be released on Xbox this winter.
