Ben Affleck Names Two Greatest Directors in Film History

The actor also compared his career to the successes of Matt Damon.

Ben Affleck gave an interview to GQ magazine, where he discussed his career. During the conversation, he shared his thoughts about his friend Matt Damon and named the directors he considers the greatest in the history of cinema.

The actor noted that Damon always makes the right choice by focusing on the director rather than the genre. This approach has led to iconic films in Damon's filmography, such as "The Talented Mr. Ripley," "The Martian," "Interstellar," "Saving Private Ryan," and many others, some of which were nominated for an Oscar. He himself previously preferred action films and blockbusters, which he now considers a mistake.

However, he acknowledges that brilliant directors approached him less frequently, which also affected the lack of significant projects in his career. Among the greats, he includes Steven Spielberg and Christopher Nolan.

Ben also added that Matt is currently training hard and preparing for fight scenes in "Odyssey." This big-budget blockbuster will also feature Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Tom Holland, and many other top stars.
