The director of "Deadpool 2" and "Bullet Train" may direct "Fourteen Friends of Ocean."

George Clooney and Brad Pitt are set to return to their roles.

Director David Leitch, known for films like "Deadpool 2" and "Faster Than a Bullet," is in talks to direct the fourth film in the iconic franchise "Ocean's Eleven" for Warner Bros. studio.

The film is being produced by George Clooney's company Smokehouse Pictures. It is expected that Clooney will reprise his role as the charming con artist Danny Ocean, joined by Brad Pitt, with whom Leitch has previously collaborated on "Faster Than a Bullet."

The original trilogy, directed by Steven Soderbergh, first hit screens in 2001 and became a commercial success. The first film grossed over $450 million worldwide, while its sequels, "Ocean's Twelve" and "Ocean's Thirteen," earned $362 million and $311 million respectively. Alongside Clooney and Pitt, stars like Matt Damon, Don Cheadle, and Casey Affleck also appeared in these films.

In 2018, the franchise received a female spin-off - "Ocean's Eight," starring Sandra Bullock in the lead role. Her character turned out to be Danny Ocean's sister. The film also featured Cate Blanchett, Rihanna, Helena Bonham Carter, Sarah Paulson, and others. It grossed $297 million worldwide.

In addition to Leitch's new project, the franchise is expanding with other projects as well. For instance, there have been reports of a prequel set in 1960s Europe. Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling may star in it, with Jay Roach as the director.
