Tom Cruise's Stunt in the New "Mission Impossible" Nearly Caused a Heart Attack for a Viewer

The director is pleased with such a reaction.

The director of "Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning," Christopher McQuarrie, stated that one of the viewers "almost had a heart attack" during test screenings.

Judging by the first trailer, the new film promises a multitude of thrilling stunts performed by Ethan Hunt, once again played by Tom Cruise. The hero will battle opponents aboard an airplane, underwater, and in other unexpected locations. However, the director did not specify which particular scene triggered the viewer's unexpected reaction.

"Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning" is the eighth film in the iconic spy franchise that began in 1996. Initially, it was planned to be a direct sequel to "Fallout," but after the latter's failure, the subtitle "Part Two" was dropped.

This is expected to be the concluding part of the series; however, it is possible that such a statement is merely a marketing tactic aimed at attracting viewers to theaters. Moreover, Cruise has previously claimed that he intends to continue making films in the series for at least another 20 years.

"Dead Reckoning" will again feature Tom Cruise, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Vanessa Kirby, Rebecca Ferguson, and other stars. The premiere is scheduled for May 23, 2025.
