Samsung prepares ultra-thin Galaxy S25 Slim to compete with iPhone 17 Slim

It may be released in the middle of next year.

According to sources from the Korean site ETNews, Samsung is preparing an ultra-thin version of the Galaxy S25 smartphone. The device could become a competitor to a similar device from Apple.

According to sources, Samsung plans to release the Galaxy S25 in three versions (standard, Plus, and Ultra) in the first quarter of 2025, and may announce the ultra-thin variant a few months later. This way, the company intends to assess the demand for such devices without creating internal competition with its main lineup. If the new model receives positive feedback, Samsung may make adjustments to its flagship offerings by 2026.

Apple is also preparing changes in its lineup. It was previously reported that a thinner Slim version with a 6.56-inch display, smaller than the current Plus, will replace the iPhone 17 Plus, which traditionally features a large screen. The release of such a smartphone is likely scheduled for fall 2025.

Creating ultra-thin smartphones requires technological changes in components such as displays and batteries to maintain their high performance and durability.
