YouTube blogger JerryRigEverything tested the durability of the Huawei Mate XT - the first foldable smartphone with three displays. The device failed the test on all counts.
The Mate XT screen proved to be vulnerable to scratches - the blogger was able to damage it with his nails. However, according to him, this is a standard situation for foldables, so it shouldn't deter anyone from purchasing the smartphone.
The display suffered even more damage after a third weak strike with a metal object. A spot with non-working pixels appeared on the screen, which only grew as the blogger touched that area.
The new device also failed the test when JerryRigEverything sprinkled dust and sand on the back panel. After that, the device stopped folding properly.
The blogger was also able to bend the smartphone backward with little effort. It is worth noting that Huawei equipped the gadget with a warning that appears on the screen if the user tries to bend the Mate XT in the wrong direction.
Additionally, the blogger easily disassembled the smartphone: the back panels could be removed without any additional tools. Inside, the device contained three thin batteries - one on each side.
