YouTube Music Introduces AI-Powered Music Recommendations and Song Recognition

One feature is currently being tested, but the other is already officially available.

YouTube has launched two new features for its music service. The first allows users to create radio stations using artificial intelligence. The second is an enhanced alternative to Shazam: it can guess songs.

With the AI feature, users can create radio stations through text prompts. Simply type in what you want to hear: for example, "upbeat pop hits" or "rock ballads with male vocals." If nothing comes to mind, you can choose from one of the suggested templates.

The song recognition feature allows users to find tracks using the microphone. Once you open the search, you'll see a wave-shaped icon. Just click on it and let the app listen to the song. You can even hum it yourself - something Shazam can't do.

Creating radio stations is still in testing: currently, this feature is only available to selected premium subscribers in the USA. However, the track recognition feature has been officially released and will soon be available to all iOS and Android users.
