You can stay connected without getting distracted from your computer work.

Microsoft is testing enhanced features of the Phone Link utility, which allows you to connect your smartphone to your PC. As mentioned in the company's blog, Windows Insider program participants in the beta testing phase already have the ability to manage Android phones directly through the Start menu without the need to launch a separate app.

The menu provides access to calls, messages, and photos stored on the phone. It also displays the battery status of the connected smartphone, and unfinished tasks can be continued on the PC.

Currently, the functionality is available for users with Android smartphones as part of the Windows 11 Insider Preview build testing from 22635.3790. Microsoft promises to later add smartphone management through the Start menu for iOS users as well. When the feature becomes available, it can be activated through personalization settings.

Previously, Microsoft tested movable widgets in the Start menu and also began placing advertisements in it.
