The studio is currently searching for a screenwriter. The director of the original trilogy, Wes Ball, will serve as producer this time.

The reboot will not be a direct continuation or remake of the previously released films. Sources did not elaborate on this topic, but we might expect something in the style of "War for the Planet of the Apes," directed by Ball.
