Denis Villeneuve Reveals Condition for Starting "Dune 3" Filming, and It's Not Box Office Earnings

The director of the films "Dune" and "Dune: Part Two," Denis Villeneuve, stated in an interview with Empire magazine the condition for starting the shoot of the third film based on Frank Herbert's novels. In short, the filmmaker needs a script that will assure him that the new film can overshadow the sequel. Additionally, time is needed.

Villeneuve has long expressed his interest in creating a third film "Dune." Before the sequel's premiere, the director informed fans that he is already working on a script based on the second novel.

Previously, Jason Momoa, whose character is set to appear in the third installment, expressed his willingness to return to work on "Dune." Villeneuve also mentioned that Florence Pugh and Léa Seydoux will have much more significant roles in the threequel than in the second part.
