The web version of "Google Drive" has started receiving a dark theme.

The dark theme in the "Google Drive" mobile apps appeared back in 2019, but it has not been available in the web version until now. Google has just started offering the night mode to some users. Initially, this was reported by the portal 9to5Google, and then the new theme appeared for us as well.

The availability of the dark interface was announced through a special message when opening the "Drive" workspace. You can switch to the new theme with just one click.

To return to the light side, you need to open the service settings and select "Light" in the "Appearance" section.

The dark theme is only applied to the file viewing interface; all available spreadsheets and documents will open in the usual light mode.

It seems that for now, the interface change is only available to Google Workspace users, and even then, not to all. The dark mode has not yet appeared on personal accounts. When a full rollout for everyone will happen is still unknown.
