Lionsgate Develops Third Installment of "Now You See Me"

The film will be directed by the director of "Uncharted".

Seven years after the release of "Now You See Me 2," Lionsgate began developing a sequel. The second installment proved popular enough for the franchise to continue with a third film, but active work on the project had yet to begin - until now.

According to Screen Daily, Lionsgate will start selling international rights to "Now You See Me 2" this week. The director has changed once again: the first film was directed by Louis Leterrier, the second by Jon Chu, and the third will be handled by Ruben Fleischer ("Zombieland," "Uncharted: No Map").

The script is being worked on by Michael Leslie ("The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes"), and the main roles will see the return of Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, and Morgan Freeman. Producers Alex Kurtzman and Bobby Cohen remain on board.

The release date and plot details of the film have not yet been announced.
